The J. Murray Atkins Library is the intellectual and physical commons of UNC Charlotte. It prepares students for success in their studies and lives as global citizens. The Atkins Library provides services and resources for students to help with all three goals of the Prospect but especially Inquiry and Cultural Awareness.

The University Career Center provides students with career decision making, internships searches, and job search processes. The Career Center provides students a variety of career assessments as well as information on internships and job search skills.

The University Center for Academic Excellence (UCAE) fosters student learning and supports student academic success by delivering high quality services and programs to the UNC Charlotte community. UCAE offers: course-based assistance, academic and life skills development, and population-specific support. They collaborate with departments and programs across campus and with the community to assist students in achieving their optimum academic potential.

The Writing Resources Center (WRC) seeks to foster an environment of active, collaborative learning outside the classroom. The WRC provides one-to-one writing instruction to students, faculty and staff from first-year to graduate in any discipline. The WRC goal is not to fix papers, but to develop better writers.

Campus Partners

The Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement (IEE) is available to assist students individually in their own explorations of themselves and/or others. The IEE promotes individual learning and development, exploring the many facets of diversity and human relations through ongoing education and training.

The Venture program enhances the educational mission of UNC Charlotte through “hands-on” learning by engaging students, faculty and staff in meaningful and challenging experiences to address individual, leadership, community and environmental issues. Venture offers a weekend trips program, academic classes in Outdoor Adventure Leadership, and facilitates on-campus high and low ropes course programs, as well as a climbing wall and kayak roll clinics.

The Office of International Programs strives to strengthen international education at the University as well as in the Charlotte community. On campus, it seeks to make international understanding and global awareness a fundamental part of the curriculum and an integral part of campus programming. The Center for Wellness Promotion promotes, supports, and affirms healthy living behaviors among campus community members to foster knowledge, attitudes, and skills that are essential for positive decision-making and enhancement of self-esteem. The Wellness Promotion Department is the campus resource for health education programs, services, and information, as well as direct-care consultation and referrals.
